Job Transition Ministry
As part of her personal ministry, Cathy leads the Job Transition Ministry at Christ Church United Methodist, 4614 Brownsboro Road, Louisville, KY.
Cathy believes that God has an important plan for our lives, and our mission is to come to an understanding of His role in our lives. Work is an extension of God’s purpose for us, and through this Ministry she wants to support others as they come to realize God’s plan for their work life now.
The Job Transition Ministry has many components, consisting of a variety of cafeteria-style services that individuals can utilize as needed. These services include the following:
Monthly meetings with others in job transition, and education and information about job search strategies and job leads;
A listserv provides details of upcoming meetings and job postings which have been forwarded to Cathy;
A library of books and resources on various aspects of job search, that can be checked out from our regular church library;
One-on-one job search coaching and counseling with Cathy and other HR professionals;
Match with a member of the congregation who has interests/professional connections in your industry, market, or profession;
Attendance at vocation workshops;
Linkage to other free community resources, workshops, and programs;
Connection with other community-based and Christ Church support services, including pastoral counseling with Dr. Jim Fleming and our Stephen Ministry.
